This 18 week contract was carried out over the summer school holiday period to minimise disruption to the general public. The contract was carried out as a Joint Venture in partnership with J McQuillan contracts and DRD Roads Service on one of the busiest routes in Northern Ireland with over 40,000 daily car users. Due to the complexity of the works the scheme was split into 3 separate phases each of which consisted of the following:-
Footway reconstruction, the renewal of the street lighting system and, junction improvements in relation to Croft Road, Sullivan Place, Shore Road, Farm Hill and Seapark. Traffic light systems with reference to ducting and cabling. The removal of central median and vehicle safety fence to provide a temporary running surface for motor vehicles. The reinstallation of the median and provision of new double sidedOBB vehicle safety fence on land side of road. The provision of timber posts and a three rail fence to the landside of the road. Carriageway works consisted of deep milling, laying of road base, resurfacing of the carriageway and other ancillary works including renewal of ironwork and road markings etc.
By incorporating the good management principles of proper planning, resource management, continuous contract review as work proceeded we achieved our project goals and objectives and our client via our customer satisfaction programme confirmed their contentment with our project delivery.

Rodgers Contracts are currently completing a 2yr contract for DRD Roads Service Eastern Division in the area of Castlereagh, North Down, Newtownabbey & Carrickfergus and Belfast North.
The work within the contract consisted of Sight Line improvements, Junction Improvements, Side filling, Road widening, Footway Construction & Re-Construction, Bus Turning Circles, Traffic Calming works, Fencing, Drainage and fully ducted traffic signal systems.

As part of the new West Link improvements, Rodgers Contracts carried out service diversions at both the Grosvenor Road and Broadway.
At Grosvenor Road a 750mm combined sewer plus associated manholes, 24 way BT and 6way cable tel were diverted around the position of the Grosvenor Road roundabout. The new route consisted of Grosvenor Road West, Devonshire Place, Devenshire Close, Collingtree Road, Westlink, Willow Street, Hutchinson Street, Stanley Street, Grosvenor Road East.
The contract was carried out over a 12 week period from March 06 to June 06, the contract was carried out for HMC as part of their DBFO package. New area at Broadway, the overhead 110kv & 33kv lines were diverted using an underground system from the M1 motorway to the Donegal Road Sub Station. The new cables were installed in a ducted system and the route consisted of M1 Motorway, Bog Meadow, Donegal Road, Park Centre, beneath the Clooney Culvert, grounds at Broadway, Tower, BroadwayRVH grounds, Westlink and Donegal Road Sub Station.
The ducting work was carried out for HMC and the civils work to the cable jointing including cable pulling was carried out for Prysmian Cables and Systems.
The contract was carried out over a 12 week period from May to July 2006.
